Obituary

Florence Lorraine O’Brien, age 86, of Dayton, OH passed away on Monday April 5, 2021.

She was born on December 20, 1934 to parents Francis and Helen (Casey) O’Brien.

She was a graduate of Proviso High School in Maywood, IL in 1952 and received her degree from Loyola University. Although she graduated from Loyola she was a big University of Michigan football fan!
(Go Wolverines!)
((Sorry Buckeye fans))

She was a paralegal secretary and retired from Kemper Insurance.
She loved to do different types of crafts but wasn’t always good at finishing them.
She would always fight for the fair treatment of others. Whether it was calling on our state representatives, to picketing in downtown Chicago for teachers benefits, to later in life fighting for the drivers of the RTA in Dayton. She had a passion for reading, which she passed on to her daughters and granddaughters.
Even as her health deteriorated she would joke around to send a cute paramedic that couldn’t run too fast.

Florence was proceeded in death by her parents and is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Randy) Spence & Carrie (Paul) Reynolds along with 6 grandkids that she threatened to put bricks on, so they couldn’t grow any taller.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, May 1st at 11:00, and followed by a Celebration of Life at Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home 1632 Wayne Ave. Dayton, OH.
