I only knew Gerry as a neighbor. She lived next door to me for the last 25 years. She would always be out planting flowers, cutting weeds, and tending to her yard. She was always willing to share a chat. When I came to her door, she would always invite me in. We talked about our shared experiences, our strong Catholic upbringing, kids, and pain. She would say that with all the misery she had at this point in her life she was very fortunate to have the love and help of her children, great grandchildren, and even a great great grandchild. They brought her great joy. I told her how lucky she was as I had no grandchildren at age 65. Shealso spoke often of her so Chuck who had passed away from cancer. She said his spirit was always with her and I could tell she loved him very much. I will miss Gerry and offer my sincere heartfelt sympathy to the family at this hard time.
